Indigenous Designs employs artisans in remote and impoverished regions of the world to produce contemporary clothing by hand. They honor traditional knitting skills passed down over thousands of years and use organic/natural yarns and dyes. Indigenous empowers artisans and helps them obtain funding, organic certifications, and access to global markets.
Indigenous believes in a quadruple bottom line that considers employees, the environment and socio-economic progress:
(1) Strong positive earnings to sustainably connect you with the hands and hearts of artisans around the world,
(2) environmental sustainability,
(3) social justice by working directly with indigenous artisans and paying them full value for their work, and
(4) global action by developing networks to provide funding, certifications, training, and education to artisans.
