We’re so excited to share our latest arrival of accessories from Guatemala! This bright, unique collection is made of recycled fabric remnants. These accessories are another result of my recent buying trip to Guatemala. We hope you’ll enjoy the story behind them…
This trip was a whirlwind of design, production, development, operations organizing, and photography. Having already worked with two artisan groups—in Guatemala City and in San Marcos—I was excited to attend the New World Crafts Fair in Antigua, Guatemala. I attended this craft show first and foremost as a buyer with a mission, or as our staff say “a buyer of betterment”. The groups we source from must be working toward a goal of bettering the lives of the artisans making the products. This is the most important part of the work that we do.
When I find a group who is creating betterment AND creative, innovative designs it’s fair-trade buying bliss! This was the case when I discovered one of our favorite new collections at this crafts fair. These upcycled accessories are created by two young Guatemalan designers who provide employment and training to women artisans in their community.
After much patience our new, vibrant Fabric Pom Collection has arrived. The collection includes:
- Fabric Pom “Lacelet” – Featuring remnants of colorful hand loomed fabric, this bracelet seamlessly combines tradition with modern design. Available in black or multi-colored lace ties.
- Multi-way Accessory – Can be worn as a headband, a belt, a necklace, a bracelet, you name it.
- Fabric Pom Pin / Barrette – Decorate or embellish your hair, your sweater, your purse, your pet’s collar, whatever you choose!
Shop for the collection online at www.ReviveStore.com or at either of our store locations. We hope you love these unique accessories as much as we do.
With love,
Lisa
